Contemporary Way to Train Christians
Desiring to Be Better Equipped
to Do the Work of the Lord
As we look through records of the history of Southland Bible Institute we are made aware of great faith and great leadership. Why do we use the word great for both? It is because those who started the work of Southland were sure of their mission given to them by God Himself. Along with that mission was the faith to believe God would supply the need for fulfilling His direction. In talking strategy and planning each move toward bringing the Bible Institute into being, Mr. Otteson gave room for God to show Himself in the work, thus, confirming the work to be of His leading and provision. Southland faces the changes that come with the new and the challenge to meet the current generation where they are. Methods of training for today open more doors for offering the same quality of training Southland has offered for over eighty years in a somewhat different format. The door has been opened that offers an opportunity to recruit and train the Christian leaders so desperately needed in our present world of biblical illiteracy and apathy. Now is the time to expand our outreach. For those are wondering: yes, we will continue offering the experience for those who need to separate themselves and give total attention to growing in knowledge and leadership “on the back side of the desert” (on campus courses). However, there are many who would love and need a path to train “as they go” in their world of family and other responsibilities in their lives; as well as, a lesser financial burden, while at the same time supporting their families without “up rooting them” to come to Ashland. We are announcing that we will be offering courses ONLINE soon. We have been diligently working to make available our first three ONLINE classes.
It is our desire to keep adding to this number until we have put the whole of our offered curriculum ON LINE. We know this is of interest to many who would not be able to come to our campus due to responsibilities or traveling expenses.
